Another successful Autumn Show! There were lots of entries, and it was good to see more exhibits in the baking classes than last year. There was not so much competition in the floral arrangements – it would be good to have more entries! The Banksian Medal was won this year by Albert Jackson.
Six children entered this year, which is a good number. There was a very original animal made from vegetables - a caterpillar made from a string of potatoes on a large rhubarb leaf – made by one of the children.
A thunder storm started at 2.00pm when we opened the doors. However, people started to arrive after the storm at about 2.30pm and eventually just over 50 people visited the show. There was a good atmosphere, and the raffle and cafe did well.
We were pleased to host several stalls. Paxton Pits recruited new members and Buckden Friends in Deed recruited 2 new members. Bob Wickens had a stall selling his hand made wooden items.
All in all, a good day!
